3 weeks - Evelyn/Starfishy

Week 4 - Odds & Ends - sized up to 12".  The outside edge is a bit wavy so I might take it apart and re-sew... but then again that homespun is pretty stretchy and it probably will be just fine once attached to sashing strips.

Mother's Dream - week 5.  I used Kathie's simplified directions for the outside edge triangles, thanks Kathie!

Week 9 - Joseph's Delight.  I love this block and probably will make more!  I like anything that makes a big star design (4 blocks set on angles to each other).

I skipped weeks 6, 7 and 8 so I could just make 12" blocks to add to my collection.  Plus week 6 (sickle varation) looks alot like a block I already made.

Joseph's Delight

Being inspired by Jeanne's scrappy version of Joseph's Delight, I got out the scraps from my Saturday Sampler project and sewed one up. It was fun and I really like the look of each of these blocks that have been posted. I could see myself making a whole quilt made from these scrappy blocks!!

My Delight

I am a bit behind in my block-making. Just finished Joseph's Delight Block. Still have to finish this week's block. There just don't seem to be enough hours in the day!

Kathie's Week 9 - Joseph's Delight variation

I've missed 3 weeks because my machine was in the shop for repairs. It was a long 3 weeks. I enjoyed making this block, but I tweeked the middle a bit. I couldn't decide which of the two fabrics I wanted for the diagonal blocks, so I just used them both.

I like this one a lot! The gold fabric is one of the very first quilt fabrics I bought, and it's appeared in numerous blocks over the years -- now dwindling...

Joseph's floral delight

I have not posted in a while; we have a small farm, more a petting zoo really & the weird winter has made extra work but when I saw Joseph's Delight, I know I wanted to make it.  Anvils/Thunderbirds really are a favorite of mine & I am always on the look-out for a variation.

The block itself was fun.  I think I would handle the open bias seams another way if I were making several & I am sure my corners would improve then (yes, I know they are not great, in my defense I made this blocks over two days in-between trying to get antibiotics into a dog-wounded emu, which is not so easy at it sounds).  I also wish I had seen the scrappy version before I cut mine out; that is definitely the way I will go next time.

OH, NO... Moths!

When I saw the word "MOTH" in the title of last week's block... I almost couldn't make it! Moths aren't my favorite, and I have no cool stories like Hetty's about the moths she and her daughter watched at the airport. I decided NOT to be a wuss, and went ahead with construction... but I forgot to "hand it in". Maybe half credit for late work, Mrs. G??? A nine-inch block that doesn't go with anything, but it was fun.










I'm "turning in" this week's block right now, since I made them both at the same time... used the same blue star print. That's the last you'll see of it; a fat quarter only lasts so long. This 12" block is part of the red, blue, and maybe-white collection.

I have to get a design wall so I can take photos head-on...

Week 9 - Joseph's Delight Block

This week's block is a 12 inch one. It's called Joseph's Delight. I am posting this block a day early because my computer has been doing some strange things in the past few days.
