Patchwork Jenn's Mother's Dream

Thanks Kathie for the alternative way.  It was super easy.

It is crazy, but I have been looking forward to this all week.  Something as simple as seeing which block we were working on has been a highlight of my week.   I would have finished it earlier but my mil was over visiting so I could drop everything and work on it ASAP.  But it is done, now I have to wait another week to work on my denim quilt.  Guess I need to go work on black and whites.

Thanks Hetty for the blocks.

Patchwork Jenn's Odds and Ends 2

Here is my denim/khaki one.  I made it 12 inches.  If you want to do that, the strips are 2 by 6.5 sewn together.  Then the corners are 2 by 16 sewn together then cut into 2 inches. Then the squares are 3.5 by 3.5 and then make half triangles that size.  It involves math which I didn't do. I made my squares bigger and then sewed them, cut them and ironed them and cut to match.  LOL!  Yeah I know, cheating but it works. ;)

Hope that helps somebody else who wants a 12 inch block.

And here are all 4 of my squares.  I cut off part of them in the picture but you get the idea.

Patchwork Jenn's Denim Quartefoil & Another Star

Well  here they are and before Friday!  I had a toothache and didn't sew last week.  Finally felt better and got them both cut on Monday and finally sewed them up, before another block came out.   I don't know what I was thinking choosing denim, khaki and old polo shirts!  I really don't like the bulky seams from the flying  geese and the knits are horrid to mix with the denim, but I think this will make a great picnic quilt.

Wheel of Time

Thank you Hetty for letting me join. I tried to think of fabric I have on hand as I have a small stash and well Dh's cast off jeans and khaki pants it was. The thick denim was tricky to work with but I can't wait to make some more squares.
