Double cross for the end of the year

I am easily brain-scrambled & it took a bit for me to sort out what block I should have done week 49 & what block I should have done this week (week 52). Naturally, I had them flipped & so here without further ado is week what I should have done before Double Cross

A funny thing about this block-these are the fabrics I had planned to make Cross & Ring out of, but I decided the green would just get lost, so I changed it for a dark purple. This block has enough of both fabrics that the green can hold its own, I think anyhow.

Double Cross

The last block for this year! It doesn't seem possible that a whole year has gone by. This is Double Cross and it was an easy and quick one. Now I guess this means I have at least 52 orphan blocks in my collection. (I made some of the blocks more than once, so there are even more! ) I think I'd better get some of them put together - so back to my sewing room I go. I will post a new block for the year 2010 on Friday. Hope there are still lots of people who will follow along. See you next year!

Whah Lah

My last 2 blocks to wrap up the year.

Week 51 in plaids to go with the other 12" blocks

Week 52 in bright scraps for my grandson's first birthday quilt.

One of my goals for 2010 is to clear out my UFO list. I know everyone always sets a similar goal. I'm determined to mend my ways and try to actually get my projects done instead of having baggies full of little parts and pieces laying around. Grandson Jackson's room is done in a jungle theme. He will be 1 year old in April and all those 8" and 9" blocks from this year's party have been intended for a quilt for him. I give you Jackson's Jungle.
