I enjoyed making this block, but I definitely think it is one of those blocks that looks best as a full quilt rather than a stand alone block. I preferred to rotate the corner 4 patches 90 degrees to have the 2 inch squares form a diagonal.

like the diagonal you created.... One of the things I've learned doing this challenge is that an interesting quilt can come from a boring block...
