Leap Froggin' Into Spring

Here's my leap frog block. I was quite amazed at how well this came together given that some of this piecing I have never done - the X sections - I don't know if they have a technical term or not. So the Friday Block Party is really paying off when even new techniques are working out. I still had to use starch because the yellow fabric wasn't as tight of a weave as the batiks and was prone to stretching. My block came out to the proper size in the end so I'm pleased with the result.

your batiks are so spring-like. Wonderful choices :-)

The X units are a new to me technique too -- don't know how often I'll use it, but it was good to explore.

This would make a great quilt top in these fabrics.
