Bear Tracks in the Tulips

When I got the 4 sections done I played with the arrangements. This is the original according to the pattern.

This is what I decided to go with for my final version. It just seemed to work better with the fabrics that I selected.

I had issues when sewing the HSTs to the bigger squares. A couple of times they went on backwards so out came the seam ripper. As Donna said in her post, just because it looks easy, I still need to think about it and pay attention to what I'm doing.

It's neat to see this block done up in non-traditional fabrics.

your fabric choices really lent itself to the fourpatch with HST around it layout -- looks really stunning that way :-)

Nice job on the block, Vicki. I do love tulips, and your fabric is striking. You were right to go with the traditional layout, and thanks for showing both variations.

Love your fabrics! I'm thinking of using that arrangement, too. I'm not crazy about the block as it is designed. I'm working on it tonight, so we'll see....
