I dug through my scrap bin and found just enough fabric to finish this block. I used some batiks and a fossel fern. Pinks are not my usual colour and I didn't like it much at first, but now it is starting to grow on me. I might make future 10in. blocks in pink. It came out to exactly 10 1/2 inches square. I think that is because I recut all the triangle squares before putting everything together. (the small ones to 2 1/2in. and the ones in the centre to 3 1/2in,) I know it doesn't look square in the photo. How do others get their shots to come out so nice and square?

love the block hetty. the pink is nice and bright and adds some "punch" to the block :-)
I am biased because pink is my favourite color!!! I like it especially with the contrast to the darker color.
I stand over my block and shoot a photo from that angle, straight on.
Gorgeous work and good job!

Your block is gorgeous! Like "Living.." said, it's just the way you photograph your block. One can see this was shot at an angle, so don't worry that we are thinking you are a terrible quilter! Ha! We wouldn't think that anyway.. it would just be "liberated" not wrong. But.. I put mine on the design wall, usually, and shoot straight at it. This time I did it on a chair and shot from straight above, as closely as I could anyway.
Great colour combo. That dark fabric really plays well with both the bright and pale pinks.
The hot pink is fun!
