June's Week 28: Farm Friendliness

Again using fabric I received in a swap - now that it's together I can see that I should have picked darker fabric for the points....

Here it's even easier to see the low contrast!  (Added after Kathie's comment.)

I think color choice and placement are the hardest part. I think that's why people recommend making one complete block of a multi block quilt before cutting out all your fabric. I know I'm doing a BOM in our guild, and some blocks have not turned out as striking as I'd hoped. I may do a few over. kathie L in Allentown

Yes, I think color and placement are key to having a stand out quilt....

I saw somewhere someone took photos of their fabrics and blocks - then converted them to shades of grey on the computer - really a good technique for finding where changes need to be made!

Would be fun to see your other projects!
