I like this block a lot -- that sort of off-kilter arrangement of the checkerboard squares is pretty interesting! I didn't like the Quilter's Cache setting with sashing and cornerstones too much, but I think it might be worth playing around with other settings in EQ one of thee days...Here's what my design wall looked like with most of my 12" blocks on it...

I think the triangle fabric that you chose for the squares really makes your block in week 24. Did you intentionally chose a brown/green/orange palette for all your 12 inch blocks, or did it just happen by coincidence?
thanks, Kathryn -- yes, I decided to start out doing all the 12" blocks in earthtones and the 10" blocks in cool-colored batiks. When I have enough blocks for a top I'll switch to another scheme...
