I think adding the second green gave it just a bit more interest.

I'm with you Heather. I looked at this pattern and have also planned on adding a 3rd colour into the mix. Your choice of the 2nd green just makes the block come alive.
I agree with you about adding more color variation to the blocks. The additional contrast gives your eyes more places enjoy. I like your color choices.
