week 10

Wow, 70 days into the new year (or there abouts since its week 10!) I really didn't know if I had it in me to do a block each week, but I've been having a blast. Thanks for playing along and helping keep me motivated.

This week's block is "Bear Tracks", a 12"block with four identical quadrants... so lots of opportunities to practise the same thing over again and get it "right before I'm done! :-)

I've always seen this block in flannels, or homespuns or other "cozy" fabrics, giving the feel of a northern hunting and fishing lodge somehow to me. I may have to see how I feel about this pattern in some very different fabric -- say novelty brights...

I wish it was 5 p.m. It's been a long week and it's time for some sewing. Now do I pull out the traditional northern fishing and wildlife fabric or do I go with something different like wild florals, batiks, brights. Hmmmmm....

I made a quilt from this block. If you go to the Page 2 of the pattern and click on "Carol's" you'll see mine in the flimsy stage.
