Bear's Paw is one of my favorite traditional blocks so I was excited to see this come up. My original idea was to do mirror images of the black/white and red. Two where the red was the background and two with the black/white as the background. But when you put them together you lose the design so I added in the solid black. I already had the red corners cut and so I used them because I was too lazy to cut out more fabric and decided to call them a quirky design element.

That is really fun and funky...a really updated version of a traditional block.
love the "arrow" effect I see with the black claws...
I always love that black/red/white color combination!
I also like the arrow effect. It gives it it's own personality.
