nightmare in the studio

I love the pattern, but what a nightmare!

This block is all stretched and wavy -- as if I'd never pieced a block before... I'm sure it'll be fine in amongst a bunch on others in an orphan block work, but on its own its hard to admit to it being my work...

I used lots of starch and still ended up with serious bias stretch problems. I think IF I were to do this block again I'd leave everything cut quite oversize and only trim down as I went along...

Looks good from here. You're right, it'll fit into a quilt and no one will know how irritated you feel over this block.

I had the same problems. But yours looks fine to me. I haven't seen the quilt police, so all is well!

Thanks for the advice - bring on the starch!!! AS you say it's a beautiful pattern BUT......

I just may make mine oversized and trim them since I know I have issues with things on a bias especially with my sewing machine.

I can't see anything wrong with your block. I love the colors you picked too. I am to scared to start this one now. I will but I am scared.

It really is a nice block. I need to get it together and get my own made. The advantage of being slow is I get to learn from everyone elses mistakes.
