What a great block! I made this one at 10 1/2 inches, and I love it! There is a way to make those corner units (the blue square and white triangle part) with strips, but I couldn't find the book it was in. I will try to see if I can find a tutorial somewhere.

what a great collection of fabrics for the block! it turned out well.
I LOVE the partiotic look to this block. I really want to do one sometime soon.
I made some flad pillows this past summer and this block would make a great quilt to go with them.

not sure if you noticed Rebecca, but I think two of your hourglass blocks are turned around... they aren't on opposite sides so I don't think it was your plan.... :-) -- didn't notice until I was looking closely, but thought you might want to know ...
Great job and I like how all the various red, white and blue fabrics work so well together.
