Week 3 - Rotunda

I really liked this pattern. It was easy and it used up lots of strips that were only 1 1/2in. wide.

I dug into my kid's scrap bag and pulled out a few coordinating fabrics. Because the block is only 9in. finished (9 1/2in. unfinished), I didn't need much fabric. I think I will use fun fabrics on all the 9-inch blocks (I am assuming that there will be more) and maybe use them to make a baby quilt. I didn't follow the instructions on the quilter's cache site, but rather did mine in strips and then assembled the strips like a log cabin block.

Nice work and love the kitty fabric. This would make a cute baby quilt.

This WOULD make a great baby quilt...I didn't follow her piecing instructions either but put it together like a log cabin.

Wonderful block Hetty...

Yes, I did the log cabin construction, too -- made much more sense and allowed me to measure (and trim a tiny bit!) after each round. I like your cute fabrics.

This will be really cute in a baby quilt.

what a wonderful pallette for a baby quilt -- the blue will add some "punch" without overwhelming it, and the print is just darling :-)

Great idea to use fun stuff in the 9 inchers, Hetty. I'm stealing your idea.

Your corner square seams match perfectly. (piecing envy over here!) Love how you emphasized each cat with your corner square colors.
