For the week 4 block I decided to stay with the bright colors.
I did this a bit differently than the directions said. I made 2.5" by 6.5" black and white rectangles for the sides and added red triangles to them instead of piecing them all in squares. That made it go faster.
Welcome to our weekly block party! This is a group blog for sharing our successes and struggles with the week's chosen block. The challenge of completing the weekly block is open to everyone. The block and a link to its online instructions will be posted on Fridays. If you would like to join us, please follow the link to Hetty's blog, or leave a comment on a post indicating you'd like posting priviledges here. I'll be happy to add you as an author -- even if you are only doing some of the blocks :-)
Authors to this blog are asked to label each post with their name and the week# of the block represented by the post. This way we'll all be easily able to see all the blocks for each week as well as all the blocks by any one person. Thanks for your cooperation!

good idea on the b/w rectangles. I find the instructions given aren't always the best way.
It looks great. I like your idea of the rectangles with triangles attached to them. Great idea. I love this group. Everyone has such great ideas!
What a great idea and a really neat looking block. I must save these instructions.

good idea re the corner rectangles... fewer seams to deal with :-)
You are such a smarty. I really like how your block turned out.
Great idea to alter the pattern. Same effect, less stitching. Love the red.
A very cheery block and a neat idea to make rectangles and save on a bunch of stitching.
