I decided that all my 10" blocks will be batik scraps, and the 9" blocks are going to be cherries! I have a tiny stash (about 10 FQs) of cherry fabric that has been waiting for the right project for at least a couple of years. This one came out of a scrap bag someone gave me.

the cherry fabric really makes this block fun, less stuffy and formal than solids :-)
