That method had you make an offset 9 patch so you could layer a large square over it and sew 1/4" off the diagonal like making HSTs. I don't remeber the site or the math for the 9 patch. Does this sound familiar to anyone here?heatherhttp://www.spiritblog.netnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1289588278594053214.post-65411358512044711642009-04-10T14:04:00.000-04:002009-04-10T14:04:00.000-04:00Interesting block but certainly don't want to foll...Interesting block but certainly don't want to follow her instructions (YUCK)!. I've got my method for HSTs down pat but what is a square patch?

I've done a google search and the only thing I get back is 9 patch. I'm still fairly new to these terms and have only done the basics in terms of the different types of blocks. Hey last week was my first time at flying geese.

So if Donna or anyone else can explain that would be great. Thanks for your help.Vickihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03465131901456763756noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1289588278594053214.post-70154193238663218322009-04-10T13:58:00.000-04:002009-04-10T13:58:00.000-04:00This is a really nice choice, but I'm thinking MH ...This is a really nice choice, but I'm thinking MH meant to use up scraps in it: hence all the bias sewing. Would be much easier to do the HSTs, but then the block would be far less "scrappy" with the duplication of fabrics.
Julie is right, I don't see the point of making 8" blocks...
